Art groups of school takes active part in cultural life of Almaty city and also performs in government concerts of Astana city. Collectives became winners of various Republican competitions and festivals.
The department of orchestral conducting works in the with Abay SAOBT, Jambyl State philharmonic hall, Kurmangazy Kazakh national conservatory.
From year to year the department of orchestral conducting expands the educational repertoire, applies the latest developments of musical pedagogics and a technique. Widely uses technical means of education. Graduates of department at performs the state exam programs with orchestral groups of school.
The department realizes educational process on disciplines: conducting, instrumentation and arrangement, reading sheet music.
The department has the industrial practice base providing all types of individual and orchestral preparation demanded by the curriculum of school and corresponding to the existing standards.
Bright graduates of the department are: Alan Buribayev is the chief conductor of the state symphonic orchestra of Astana city; Aydar Turabayev is the chief conductor Astana Opera; Kanat Omarov – the conductor of the state symphonic orchestra of RK; Berik Zhaylyaubayev is a conductor of philharmonic symphonic orchestra; Erbolat Akhmedyarov is the chief conductor of Abay SAOBT; Armand Ourazgaliyev is a conductor Astana Ballet; Toyboldiyev Madiyar is a conductor of symphonic orchestra.
